Founded in 1996 to connect the theatre industry with a mass consumer audience, WhatsOnStage.com is the UK’s biggest and best dedicated theatre website with its comprehensive listings, news, reviews, interviews, video content and discount ticket offers. The Theatre Club is a members-only extension of WhatsOnStage designed to provide theatregoers with exclusive opportunities to attend theatre and live performances with free tickets and exclusive member rates. WhatsOnStage and the Theatre Club are services owned by parent company TheaterMania.com, Inc.
What does my membership get me?
Membership in the Theatre Club entitles you to reserve tickets to any of the shows listed at special member prices for as long as supplies last. You choose the date and time from the available list, and with a few clicks, your booking will be made and your seats will be waiting for you. It’s that easy. (Be sure to follow any specific instructions for the theatre or venue. These instructions will be on the detail page of each show and on your confirmation.)
How much is membership and how much are tickets?
Membership plans start at £30 per year or £3.50 per month. Most shows have an exclusive member rate so membership often pays for itself with a single booking!
What kinds of shows are offered? Are they good?
The Theatre Club has something for everyone: comedies, musicals, plays, opera and much, much more! In the past, many shows that have been listed on the Theatre Club have won prestigious theatre awards. Some of our past shows have included: “Wicked,” “Miss Saigon,” “Matilda,” “War Horse,” “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” “Les Misérables.”
How often are the shows updated?
Our show listings are updated throughout the day as new ticket inventory becomes available. Look out for new features that will allow you to keep informed on our ever-changing offerings. You can always see up-to-the-minute show listings by visiting this website from your computer, tablet or smartphone.
How can you offer tickets at such a low cost?
We get this question all the time! Producers of shows view the Theatre Club as a great marketing vehicle where they can showcase their production to tastemakers like you. By making these offers available to a limited and exclusive group of people, a production can generate “buzz” and develop word-of-mouth without compromising the sale of full price tickets. So if you see a show that you like, make sure to tell your friends and family about it! Some shows may ask that you fill out a brief survey after viewing a Theatre Club offering.
How do I get my tickets?
Once you’ve selected your show, date, time and number of tickets and confirmed your order, you’ll receive an online confirmation that you can present at the theatre in print or on your smartphone. We will also email a voucher to the email address associated with your account. You can always return to your account to view your upcoming and past reservations, and reprint your voucher if necessary. The process may differ for some events, so please take note of any special instructions both on the website and your voucher.
How often can I see shows?
Your membership entitles you to see as many shows as you’d like. Each plan has different ticket quantity limitations. You may generally see any show offered at least once per year at these special prices. (Some shows may have different limitations.) The number of tickets you may purchase per performance may vary.
Why can’t I see the shows you currently have listed before I decide to join?
Our arrangements with shows’ producers allow us to reveal show listings to paid members only. Great shows are available in the Theatre Club daily and you may find that you can surprise yourself or someone else with an unexpected treat more often than you think!
Can I buy a gift membership for someone else?
A Theatre Club membership is a great gift for any theatre lover! You may purchase gift memberships to any annual plan for others, whether you are a member or not, by choosing “Purchase Gift Membership” from the main menu. At the end of the process you will receive a gift certificate and the option to either print it and give it to your gift recipient yourself, or have it emailed directly to him or her along with a gift message. If you are a member when you purchase your gift, we’ll also put a small “thank you” credit on your account as soon as your gift recipient completes the signup process. All gift memberships must be redeemed within 1 year of purchase date.
I received a gift certificate. Why do you need my credit card information?
The gift certificate entitles you to a membership in the club. We securely keep your credit card information on your account so that you can purchase tickets quickly, renew your membership and make good use of that very thoughtful gift! (You can read more about our security practices below.)

What should I be aware of before joining? What’s the catch?
There really is no catch! However, we ask all of our members to read and agree to our terms and conditions before completing the sign-up process.
What if I want to purchase more tickets than my membership plan allows?
This option may be available on a limited basis depending on the show and date. If it is available, your reservation form will reflect the option to buy more tickets.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We take security very seriously. All Theatre Club communication is transmitted over encrypted SSL connections, allowing for data to be transmitted without the problems of eavesdropping, data tampering, or message forgery. Your credit card data is encrypted using multi-layered hardware and software encryption methodologies in a segmented network with no public Internet access. This encrypted information is stored in a separate database in a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant facility with strictly limited and monitored access.
How do I go about cancelling my membership?

The Theatre Club is best viewed on the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer on both Desktop and Mobile devices. If you are experiencing issues with the site, please upgrade your browser.
It is important for us to keep you and your data safe. Therefore we must, from time to time, drop support for dated Web browsers that do not enforce or support the latest security standards. Currently, any users using Internet Explorer 6, or running Windows XP with Internet Explorer 8 will not be able to access or use the Theatre Club.
I’m trying to join, but I’m getting a message that says my email address is already on file. What should I do?
It's possible that you already have an account on file if you've purchased a gift membership in the past but never joined the club yourself. Click the "forgotten password" link and you will receive an email with password reset instructions. The link in the email you receive is a single-use link that will allow you to reset your password once. The link expires after its first attempted use and within a short time, so please click through and change your password as soon as you receive the email.
